But there is also some drawbacks. Because they look alike and because people can't tell them apart, they don't get to know the real Manny and the real Joe. They are not Manny AND Joe, they are just MannyJoe.
When they were younger you could tell them apart b/c Joe had (still has but to a lesser Degree) Strabimus that you can see in this post. Because of this condition that he has we go and see the specialist in Mississauga every 6 months until he is 9 years old. We went for a check up at the beginning of September and found out that Joe is really far sighted. And as a result, now requires glasses. So my Identical Twins - are no longer Identical. (well genetically they are). But people will now always be able to know Joe as "the one with glasses". Maybe this will allow people (and fellow classmates) get to know them as two different people.

But yes, it does make me sad that he has to wear glasses. But I know it'll help him. Once he gets used to them. Two days after having glasses he was running in our backyard and run right into the basketball net. Then the next day we were at the park, and he went running to where the other kids were, and ran right into a TREE! No slowing down, no nothing. Full force into a tree.
I was talking to his kindergarten teacher and asked her to remind Joe to stay off the equipment at recces for a week until he got used to his glasses and explained who. And she said she got her glasses (for same reason) when she was a teenager. And she had a hard time adjusting as well. Because things that she used to see were further away, she knew she had time to move. However, with glasses, things were JUST THERE! No warning. and she would walk into things too for the first week.
Manny is also boarderline far sighted as well. So his eyes could go either way in the next 2 years. They will either get worse and require glasses, or they will correct themselves on thier own. We'll have to wait and see. Maybe next year, he'll have glasses too.
